Movie 'n' Munchies, Saturday, March 7, 2020, 10 am - noon
Join us for the next MAGO Movie ‘n’ Munchies event on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, as we take a virtual trip to the Methuen Memorial Music Hall through the movie " Tour Bus goes to Methuen."
In this film, Carol Williams, renowned concert artist and world’s first woman civic organist based in San Diego, explores the great organ’s journey from its German origin to Methuen. The organ was originally installed in the Boston Music Hall until the Boston Symphony was established and needed a place to call home. The history is interesting, the choices of music entertaining and you’ll get a chuckle out of her presentation.
The movie will be followed by some takeaways of the recent Worcester Chapter’s Jubilee event from attendees, Dick Boutwell and Gene Faxon.
Refreshments will be served, so come a few minutes early. If you have questions, contact Mary Ann Fleming or Carol Hamilton. BTW, Carol suggests bringing organ or choir music you want to discard and we’ll set up a table for perusal. Donations for music benefit the Chapter. This event is no cost to MAGO members. It is open to the public by free-will donation, so invite your friends!
